Here’s a quick card and quick post to get one more card in for the current Desert Islands Crafts Challenge.  The itinerary elements I chose were something alive (the flowers and the butterfly), something with wings (the butterfly), make it pop (the butterfly’s wings are popped up from the focal panel), and using a quote for the sentiment.  I used this week’s Stars and Stamps Blog sketch for the layout.  And now I have another birthday card for my Operation Write Home stash!

Supplies:
Stamps: Spring Garden (Stampin’ Up); …the Life… (Penny Black)
Cardstock: Marigold Morning, Cranberry Crisp, Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Soft Sky, Mellow Moss, Marigold Morning, Cranberry Crisp, Early Espresso (SU)
Other: Baroque Burgundy marker (SU); sponge

  1. Patricia, I love the color combo on your card and that sentiment is so nice. Great job of the flowers and butterfly. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Great card, Patricia! I love the little cloud in the corner 🙂 Thanks for joining us in this week’s OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge!

  3. A great quote with a great array of floral images! Cute card!

  4. What a beautiful card! The elements are so nicely balanced too. Often I think cardmakers are scared of leaving any blank, open space but it’s so important in composition and this is a wonderful example of how to use it well.

  5. This is gorgeous! I love the sentment.

  6. This is such a great sketch and I love how you used it, Patricia! The sentiment especially touched me.
