Operation Write Home fan Sheila G. came up with the idea for fellow OWHers to share the ten favorite cards they made in 2011 for Operation Write Home.  I had already planned to create a “Cardmaker’s Dozen” of my favorite card from each month of 2011 and share them in early January, and a lot of them were cards I’d made for OWH.  So I went back through my blog posts again and came up with another list.  I’ll still share my Cardmaker’s Dozen soon, but for now, here are 10 favorite cards I made for OWH in the past year.  Links to the original posts can be found under each photo; you can click on them if you’d like details on each card.

  4. I really admire your color choices on all of these cards. That’s something I’m working on. I want to CASE the card with the Thoughts and Prayers set as I have it and only ever use it for sympathy cards. Love what you did with the striped paper!

  5. Thank you for sharing your great cards! You do such a great job coloring. That marshmallow is just adorable!

  6. Your choices are just so sweet and tender. A real pleasure to see your choices all in one place. The marshmallow made me smile. Thanks for sharing

  7. Patricia
I love all you cards but the marshmellow one made me smile. I’m sure all of these put a smile on a heroes face and the loved one they sent it too.
Thanks for helping OWH to complete it mission in 2011.

  8. Your snuggle bunnies are so sweet and I love the bunny card from the OWH sketch. That is a sketch worth repeating. Your little doggy card is so sweet and has great colors. The I miss you and thinking of you are beautiful in their inking, colors and clean looks.

  9. The sentiment on the first card can be applied to your talent as well – You are fabulous! I especially like the way you used several papers in the third card. There’s a big stack of coordinated papers in my stash that I’ve not used yet, and this card shows me how I can use them – and I won’t have to cut contrasging plain card stock to frame every little piece of paper, either. Thank you for the inspiration!

  10. Beautiful cards. They are are so fun.

  11. Fabulous top ten Patricia! I loved seeing each of your cards, wonderful inspiration 🙂 I also love your idea of a “cardmakers dozen”, may I use your idea too?

    Such lovely color combos!

  13. Hi Patricia! I do remember your sweet and gentle bunny cards; love them. Your cards have a beautiful simplicity that is hard to achieve, and which say so much, such as the gorgeous “I Miss You” card with the single tree. The marshmallow card made me laugh out loud, which I really needed today! Happy New Year, and here’s to another year of cardmaking for OWH!
