CAS - Colours and Sketches #43

Happy Thursday!  We’re past “hump day” and ready for a new challenge at CAS – Colours and Sketches!

This week’s color challenge had me thinking of autumn – yellow and orange leaves against a blue sky.  I made a card, but I wasn’t really thrilled with it.  Inspiration struck again… at 11:07 p.m. when I was trying to find out info about something unrelated on another blog and found my way to the CAS(E) this Sketch! site.   Really.  This blog post needed to be scheduled for 4:00 a.m. (which sounds crazy here in the U.S., but that’s a very reasonable 9:00 a.m. in the UK where the CAS – Colours and Sketches blog is based).  I wasn’t ready for bed yet, so I went back to the proverbial drawing board and came up with another card.  I stamped some leaves and a sentiment.  Then I softened the color inside of the leaves by “painting” them with a slightly damp paintbrush.  I lightly sponged the vertical edges of the focal panel and adhered it to the card base.  Quick and easy, and I liked the results much better than the first card!  The only down side is that the watercoloring makes the cardstock a bit warped. I guess if I were super ambitious I could have tried to iron it, but time didn’t allow for that. I decided to add a leaf to the inside of the card, too.  The colors work perfectly for this week’s “fall” theme at ‘ABC’ Challenges.

I won’t say just how late it is now that I’m finishing up this blog post – but suffice it to say I am definitely ready to catch some zzzzzs now.
