Hi there!  It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for a new challenge at CAS Colours & SketchesLizy, our challenge hostess for June, has drawn up a nice little sketch for us to work with this week.

I stayed true to the sketch for my card, and I considered several different ideas for what images to use.  In the end, I decided to follow along with the Paper Players theme of “Summer Treats” and chose this cute little pea pod image.  My family has been enjoying the peas from our garden over the last few weeks, and I’ve been freezing packages of them for us to eat throughout the winter.  Home-grown veggies are definitely a treat in my opinion!  For my card, I originally planned to stamp the card base with a background stamp, but I didn’t like the way that looked.  So I decided to scrap that idea and just keep it plain.  A simple knot bow with the ribbon will smush flat enough to keep this card eligible for Operation Write Home.

  5. I love this, Patricia! Such a cute card. Fresh summer peas sure are sweet, and yours bring back memories of picking them as a child and eating them right in the garden. Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players!

  6. I agree, home grown fruits and veggies are definitely a treat, I’m enjoying strawberries from my garden at the moment. Love the cute pea pod image too, well done on combining challenges and thanks for the email alerting me to the absence of my card this week?

  7. It’s several years since I had the time to grow my own fruit and veg but it so tastes better than shop bought. Roll on retirement then perhaps I’ll have more time, but shouldn’t wish my life away! Super cute card Patricia. Stef x
