Hello! It’s time for a new color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. Our hostess for the month of June is Beverley, and she’s chosen a palette of soft colors.
At first, the colors made me think of florals, but then the rebel in me wanted to do something that didn’t seem quite so obvious. I decided to combine this challenge with last week’s CC&S sketch challenge, which I missed out on because I was out of town. My heart shaped dies were just the right size to work in place of the circular elements on the sketch, once I turned the sketch into a landscape-oriented rectangle. I slightly folded the hearts in the challenge colors and glued down the crease, to give them a little dimension. To accentuate the shadows, I added hearts in kraft cardstock behind them. The sentiment is because I needed a birthday card for someone who’s given my family and me lots and lots of love. In case she sees this post, I don’t want to say exactly who it is, because it isn’t quite her birthday yet!
What will you create with our challenge colors? Be sure to link your card at our challenge post by 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, June 8. We’d love to have you join us!
All supplies except the heart dies are from Stampin’ Up.
Stamps: Sincere Salutations
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Rose Red
Ink: Crumb Cake
Other: Hearts dies (Lawn Fawn)

Such a lovely combination of the two challenges, Patricia! A gorgeous CAS card. Caro x
Love how you have combined the two challenges and also gone for hearts rather than flowers. I love how you have die cut and adhered the hearts, simple yet so effective and perfectly CAS. Hugs Bev x
Oooh, your own double 😉 Love the card – great use of the colors and the sketch!
Seems we have a few rebels on the DT! Super use of last week’s sketch combined with this week’s colours.
Gorgeous card Patricia and I love that you decided to double. I really like the extra kraft hearts, they add so much dimension.
