Hello there!  In my family, we are wrapping up “birthday season”.  In the last month, my husband’s brother, my father-in-law, both of my parents, one of my aunts, and one of my uncles have all celebrated their birthdays.  Today’s post shows off the last card I made, using this week’s sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches for inspiration.

I’ve taken a bit of liberty with the sketch by using balloons in place of the two largest circular elements.  I die cut the balloons from some watercolor-y designer paper. I like the way the watercolored appearance gives the balloons a more realistic, translucent look than regular cardstock would.  A narrow strip of a different pattern of designer paper in the same package provided the color scheme for the balloons, the balloon strings, and the enamel dot embellishments.
