Hello there!  It’s the fourth Tuesday of the month, which means we have a new sketch challenge to present to you today at CAS Colours & Sketches.

It took me a little while to figure out what to use for the trio of mostly-vertical shapes on the sketch.  I finally settled on this pencil stamp from one of my older stamp sets.  Because the pencil image is not very big, I decided to crop down the focal panel to a 4.25″ square, and then mount that to a standard 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base.  I’ve also lengthened the pencils by cutting them just above the metal part and adding some space between the two parts when I glued them to the focal panel.  The sentiment panel hides the gaps.  I’ve used dimensional adhesive to attach it, so it “floats” over the thickness of the layered pencils.  It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the white panel is textured cardstock, which adds a little bit more visual interest to the card.

Shopping Our Stash is looking for cards based on sketches, so I’m going to enter my card there and invite their design team and participants to consider joining us at CC&S! 🙂

What will you do with this sketch?  I hope you’ll try out something and share what you create with us!  Link your work to the CAS Colours & Sketches blog by 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Monday, October 30.  Thanks for stopping by today!
