Hello hello!  It’s Timeless Tuesday at CAS Colours and Sketches, where we have a double challenge for you!  This week we’d like you to create a card using the provided color palette and sketch.

I decided to use the sky blue in the color combination as a sky, but I didn’t want to use plain cardstock, so I turned to my patterned papers and chose a bitty polka-dot design.  For the other two colors, I stamped two birds onto a scrap of white cardstock and colored each bird a different color.  I stamped a line for the birds to “perch” upon and drew in their legs, because fussy cutting around the legs is too fussy for me, LOL.  I also stamped the sentiment balloon on a scrap of cardstock and fussy cut that to add to the sketch.  Because of the way I positioned the speech balloon, I’ve actually used a “flipped upside down” version of the sketch.  I gave the birds a little dimension by adding a couple of scrap cardstock shims beneath them before gluing them into place on the card.

Be sure to go see what the rest of the CC&S Design Team has made for this challenge!  Then create a card of your own and share it with us via the linky tool on the CC&S site.  You have until 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Monday, May 6 to link your card.  We hope you’ll join in the fun and creativity!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Stamps: Feathered Friends [for Simon Says Stamp], Chit Chat (Lawn Fawn)
Cardstock: Solar White (Neenah); Soft Sky Prints designer series paper (Stampin’ Up)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)

Another Tuesday, another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge!  🙂  This week we have a take on some bright primary colors.

I tossed a few ideas around in my head, looked through my computer files at cards I made in the past, and checked out a few other current challenges before deciding what to do for my card this week.  It ended up being a mashup of this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge, squashed into a landscape-oriented rectangle, and a card I’d made in 2012.  I used the same stamps I’d used on my previous card and fit them into the CTS sketch, using the CC&S colors.  Once I got it all figured out, the card came together pretty easily.  It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the red block of cardstock at the top of the card has a slight linen texture.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the CC&S Design Team and our Guest Designer have made with these colors!  Then create a card of your own and link it to the CC&S site by 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Monday, April 22, 2019.  We’d love to have you join us!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Well hi there!  It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.  This time we have some bold, bright colors for you.

After seeing that some of the other CC&S design team members had used a floral theme for their cards, I decided to do something different.  As I looked through my stamp sets, I realized this hot-air balloon would work well with the challenge colors.  I stamped the balloon on some white cardstock, colored it, and fussy cut around it.  The current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch! also seemed like a good fit for the balloon image, but I ended up having to scoot the balloon over a bit so that the sentiment would fit the way I wanted it.  I embossed a scrap of cardstock with a cloud pattern for the horizontal strip portion of the sketch, and used dimensional adhesive to attach the balloon over it.  The card all came together quite quickly, so it’s eligible for the current AAA Cards challenge, too.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you’ll join us over at CAS Colours & Sketches with your own take on these colors!  You have until 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Monday, April 8 to link your card at the challenge website.
