No, we don’t really have snow yet.  We woke up to a “powdered sugar dusting” Tuesday morning, but it melted by 11:00 a.m.  However, it’s been cold enough to feel like snow this week.

So, here’s a snowy card I made for the Lizzie Anne Designs Holiday Challenge.  It uses their weekly sketch challenge #52 layout, along with the extra twist to use complimentary colors from the color wheel.

I chose red and green for the colors and made this Christmas card.  I mixed and matched the snow globe from the Build-a-Bauble set with the house from Holiday Lane.  I tried to color the base of the globe to look like woodgrain.  I’m not sure I succeeded, but anyway, it is what it is.  I had some fun with some Liquid Applique, too. Then I stamped the different languages from the Many Merries stamp in pairs, which left the English “Merry Christmas” for the inside of the card.  I took the artistic liberty of rearranging the sentiments from the order that they are on on the stamp.  I thought the visual arrangement of the longer lines vs. the shorter lines looked better this way.  (OK, so I’m very particular about that kind of stuff.)

Here are all the deets:

Stamps: Build-a-Bauble, Holiday Lane, Many Merries (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Cardstock: Glorious Green, Real Red, Kraft (Stampin’ Up!)
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black
Other: Liquid Applique, Stamp-a-ma-jig
