Hi there! I’ve been busy this week creating cards for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  Here are a couple of them.

First off is a card I originally created for a different challenge.  The digital image for it is a freebie from Handmade by Paula.  (Check out her blog sometime – she has a lot of really nice digis there!)  When I printed off the image, I intended to use it for the challenge to create a humorous card.  Then I recalled another image I had that I felt was funnier, and decided to use that one for the humorous challenge.  But I went ahead and finished off this card and entered it into the challenge to create a card with a pink ribbon.  It’s a very simple card but I think it turned out nicely.

Digital Image:  Demand Chocolate (Handmade by Paula)
Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette (SU); Luxury White (Gina K. Designs)
Ink: printer ink
Other: Pink Pirouette ribbon, dimensionals (SU): markers (Copic)

Next is the card I ended up using for the humorous challenge.  Back in the early 2000s I had a Shoebox Greetings day planner, and the cartoon here was scanned from one of the daily pages.  I’d just kept it on my computer ever since then because I thought it was pretty funny.  For the challenge, I also needed to include a bit of pink.  I used a marker to add some pink to Larry’s face, head and neck to make him look like he’s blushing.  Cameo Coral ended up being the closest color to pink that coordinated well with the cartoon.  I wouldn’t normally put these colors together, but I suppose it works well enough for this cause.

Cardstock: Almost Amethyst, Cameo Coral (SU); Luxury White (Gina K. Designs)
Ink: printer ink
Other: pink Copic marker; pop dots

There are still some challenges I haven’t done yet, so I’d better get back to creating! If you want to participate, you have until noon Central time Monday, November 7 to upload your cards to the Splitcoaststampers Gallery.
