Hello!  Saturday means it’s time for a new challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown, and I’m excited to be the challenge hostess for the month of March!  We’re kicking the month off with a sketch challenge.

The sketch has a lot of fun circular elements.  I toyed with a few ideas of what to use for them before deciding on ornaments.  I’ve been wanting to use my mosaic stamps for a while, and they worked nicely for the smaller elements of the sketch.  For two of the ornaments, I brushed a thin layer of shimmer paint over solid color cardstock.  The paint adds a little dazzle to the card, but it’s sheer enough for the original color to show through.  Most of the ornament hangers are hand drawn, but I used cording for a couple of them.  Staggering the dimension of the ornaments was a bit of a challenge, but I think it worked out.  The card seemed a bit too plain when I laid the ornaments out on smooth cardstock, so I opted for a textured background.

Be sure to visit the 52{C}CT site and see what the rest of the design team has created!  Then show us what you can do with this sketch.  Link your card at the 52{C}CT site by 1:00 p.m. Eastern time Friday, March 7.  We’d love to see your artwork!
