Hello!  It’s the third Thursday of the month, which means it’s color challenge time again at CAS Colours & Sketches.

The colors made me think of nature.  For the focal panel of my card, I made a watercolor wash with Bermuda Bay ink.  When it was dry, I stamped a wildflower image on it with a light color of ink.  Then I used watercolors to paint over the image.  I added in a touch of shimmery paint on a few of the flowers.  Then I die cut the circle and the sentiment.  The two vertical strips were stamped with subtle prints to give them a little extra visual texture.  The focal panel is popped up over them with dimensional adhesive.  The layout for this card comes from this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  I know that Send a Smile 4 Kids often needs cards for the teenagers they aim to serve, and I think this card will be suitable for that purpose.

  1. What a super idea to watercolour a card for the background of your focal point – must remember that trick.

  2. How pretty! Your flowers on that lovely blue panel are fantastic. And I just love when a kitty helper makes it into the shot!! So glad you joined us this week at FMS!

  3. A clean and pretty card! I love those sweet flowers! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

  4. I love the flowers on your watercoloured panel. I also really like the texture you’ve added to the two other panels, it makes it so that the panels seem to have purpose rather than being there because it’s in the sketch! Really good idea. Liz x

  5. Fresh, clean CAS design with a lovely Autumnal feel too. Hugs Bev x

  6. Fun card – love the combo of the colors and sketch!
