It’s time for the last CAS Colours & Sketches challenge of 2016, and we’re closing the year out with another seasonal challenge.  This week we’d like for our participants to choose one of our sketch challenges from 2016 and make a festive card with it.

I missed out on challenge #173 back in May because at the time, I had to go out of town unexpectedly.  So I decided to use it for my card this week.  It’s great for a quick card!  I used a couple of scraps of designer paper for the diagonal strips, stamped a sentiment in a coordinating ink color, and the card was done!  I spent more time deciding which designer papers to use than I did assembling the card.

Hello!  If you’ve been playing along with 52 Christmas Card Throwdown all year long, you should have a nice supply of Christmas cards that are ready to be signed, put in envelopes and mailed now that it’s December.  Or, if you’re like me, you’ve already sent them to a charitable organization of your choice so that others may use them.  Either way, those cards are going to be spreading cheer very soon!

Since December tends to be a busy month for most people, at 52CCT we’ve decided to have just one challenge this month, to create a card that uses any of our challenges from 2016.  You’re welcome to choose one of our color challenges, sketch challenges, theme challenges, technique challenges, or stash challenges – or, you can even combine two or more of our challenges!  You can find the challenge ideas on the 52CCT site.

Due to a family emergency (don’t worry, everything will be OK), I wasn’t able to get a card made for the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge before it went live.  The challenge prompt there this week is to use any of the CC&S color challenges from 2016 to make a seasonal card.  So I decided to combine the CC&S and 52CCT challenge ideas.  I’ve used CC&S color challenge #161 and the 52CCT October sketch challenge.  I felt the sketch lent itself well to a clean and simple card, and I thought the colors worked well for a nontraditional but frosty snowflake theme.  Once I figured out what I wanted to do, the card came together pretty quickly.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Teams from 52CCT and CC&S have made, and leave some love for them on their blogs, too!  Then make a card for either – or both! – of the challenges and share it with us.  You have until 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, December 7 to link your card at CC&S, but the 52CCT challenge will remain open until 7:00 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, December 28.  We’re looking forward to seeing what you create!
