We’ve made it through another week, and now it’s Friday again, which means it’s time for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge! This week’s challenge should be pretty easy: Create a Thanksgiving project using a digital image. Share your creation over at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge website before midnight eastern time Thursday, November 15. We’d love to see what you create!

I’ve chosen to use an image of sweet little Cocoa Mouse nestled in a fall harvest arrangement, along with one of Sweet ‘n Sassy’s digital sentiments. The layout for the card is the weekly sketch at Splitcoaststampers.com.  I generally don’t make cards for Thanksgiving Day, but I felt the “many thanks” sentiment worked both for that occasion as well as any other time someone might want to show gratitude.  I have to apologize for the lighting; in real life the gourd matches the green leaves in the designer paper better than in the photo.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to see what the rest of the Design Team has created and give them some comment love.  Links to their blogs are in the left sidebar.  Then join us in our challenge this week!

Supplies:
Digital Images: Harvest Cocoa, Many Thanks (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: Pure Luxury White (Gina K. Designs); Chocolate Chip, designer papers from Autumn Vine collection (Stampin’ Up)
Ink: printer ink; Chocolate Chip (SU)
Other: markers (Copic); sponge

Hello! Happy Friday! Are you ready for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge?

This week’s challenge is to create Anything But a Card using a digital image. There are loads of possibilities here! Just to offer a few examples, you can make a gift bag or gift box, or alter a clipboard or a tin or a notebook, or create a scrapbook page, a bookmark or a magnet. So long as you use at least one digital image for the focal point of your project, anything goes! You’re not required to use a Sweet ‘n Sassy digital image, but we do love it when our participants use them (and you get the chance for extra perks if you do – see the Digi Challenge site for more details!).

I decided to try making a mini calendar because I thought if it goes together easily enough, it would be fun to make these as Christmas gifts. Calendar templates can be found pretty easily online; I got mine from the templates forum at Splitcoaststampers.com and then tweaked it to suit my style and to fit an entire year’s worth of calendar months on one page. I figured I’d start off with January, and I thought that one of Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Cocoa Mouse images would be good because there are more than enough Cocoa images to pick one for each month of the year. A lot of people appreciate a hot drink on a cold January day, and so does Cocoa. He’s snuggled up to the cup here to keep warm! I paper pieced the mug sleeve from designer paper that coordinated with the background paper I chose, and the rest of the image was colored with Copic markers.  I slipped this into an old acrylic photo frame that I had here; this allows the calendar to stand on its own on a desk or other horizontal surface.  I can’t remember if I bought the frame at Walmart or Dollar General, but it was really inexpensive.

So, now it’s your turn to make Anything But a Card! Link your project at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge site by midnight eastern time Thursday, November 8. Remember that for every project you submit throughout November, you will get one entry to be eligible for winning 3 digital images of your choice from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps store! Be sure to play along every week, and to go visit the rest of the design teams’ blogs for more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Digital Image: Cocoa’s Latte (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: Basics White (Papertrey Ink); designer papers from Holly Jolly Christmas 6″ x 6″ paper pad (Echo Park)
Ink: printer ink
Other: markers (Copic); acrylic photo frame (source unknown); corner rounder punch (EK Success)

We’ve made it through another week, and now it’s Friday again, which means it’s time for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge! This week the challenge is Stitching. We encourage you to make a project using a digital image and embellish it with stitching. It doesn’t matter if you hand sew your stitches, or use a sewing machine, or even draw faux stitches on your work – it’s all good! Share your project with us at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge site by midnight eastern time Thursday, November 1. You’re not required to use a Sweet ‘n Sassy digital image for your project, but we do love when you use those (and you get the chance for perks if you do – see the Digi Challenge site for more details).

I decided to go clean and simple with this week’s challenge, and I used a lot of older supplies to create my card.  The layout is based on an OWH Stars and Stamps blog sketch from 2010, but I centered the focal panel.  The card base is one of Stampin’ Up’s first In Colors which was offered in their 2006-2007 catalog.  The designer papers I used for the strip along the bottom of the card and for paper piecing the puppy are from one of my first Basic Grey 6″ x 6″ paper pads.  And the embroidery floss I used for the stitched border is from my cross-stitching days, so that goes back at least to the mid 1990s!  I used two colors – one strand of blue, and one of brown – in the needle at the same time.  The vanilla cardstock isn’t too old; I’ve had it for maybe 6 months or so.  However, the digital image is brand new to me.  It’s from a Sweet ‘n Sassy digital set that includes the puppy image, a bone, paw prints, and two sentiments.  I used the mirror image of the puppy because it was easier for me to align the sentiment with the image that way and print it all at once.

My card also fits the Hope You Can Cling To challenge being presented today at Splitcoaststampers.com.  I hope you’ll check out the HYCCT challenges there and participate in spreading some cheer and good will to cancer patients and their families.

Supplies:
Digital Image: Puppy Love (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: Cool Caribbean, Very Vanilla (Stampin’ Up); papers from Blush 6″ x 6″ paper pad (Basic Grey)
Ink: printer ink
Other: embroidery floss (DMC); dimensionals (SU)

It’s time for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge, but we have some extra fun this week! Along with our challenge, the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge Design Team is having a blog hop to introduce you to the October Digi Release. We are all pretty excited about that!  Links to all the participating blogs are below.

This week’s challenge is Using Metal. Use any sort of metal embellishment on your creation – brads, decorative clips, ribbon slides, even wired ribbon. Use one piece of metal or several – it’s up to you! Just keep in mind the guidelines for Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenges:

  • Please use digital images ONLY for the focal point of your creation(s) for this challenge.
  • Be sure to link your creation(s) to the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge blog. Every card you enter in our challenges throughout the month of October gives you one chance to win 3 digital stamps of your choice from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps store! So the more you play, the more chances you have to win!
  • Sweet ‘n Sassy digital images are not required, but we really love it when our challenge participants use them! Every week, one participant who uses a Sweet ‘n Sassy digital image is spotlighted. We feel that our challenge participants who use Sweet ‘n Sassy images deserve a little extra recognition.
  • When uploading to online galleries, please use keyword SNSDC76.

I’ve used the new Kiwi’s Gift digital image for today’s card.  Isn’t Kiwi adorable?  Although all the images being released today are Christmas-y in nature, I wanted to show how this one can be used any time of the year.  So I’ve created a birthday card with it.  I chose photo turns for my metal embellishment. The sentiment is from Masculine Birthday Greetings, another SNSS digital stamp set.  I took my color scheme from this week’s Splitcoaststampers.com color challenge, and the layout is this week’s SCS sketch challenge.

Now, here’s the list of the blog hop participants.  While you’re hopping, be sure to leave some love on each of the blog hop posts. One of the team members is a mystery blogger and she will be picking a random winner from the comments on her blog post! The winning prize will be the whole October Digi Release! How incredible is that?!? The winner will be announced on the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge site on Friday, October 26.

I hope you’ll have fun hopping along with us, and that you’ll share your metal challenge creation with us this week!

Supplies for today’s card:
Digital Images: Kiwi’s Gift, Masculine Birthday Greetings (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: Pure Luxury Ivory (Gina K. Designs); designer papers from Razzleberry Lemonade and Spring Flowers paper packs (Stampin’ Up)
Ink: printer ink
Other: photo turns from Hodgepodge Hardware, twill ribbon (SU); classic rectangles Nestabilities die (Spellbinders); Premier colored pencils (Prismacolor); odorless mineral spirits (Houston Arts)

Here’s a quick CAS card I made for the Dynamic Duos color challenge that ends today.  I used the digital version of the orange from this stamp set so I could enlarge it to better fit the space on the card. I’ll admit this isn’t one of my best coloring jobs, but I think it’ll be all right for a kid’s card per Lori’s Hope You Can Cling To challenge.

Supplies:
Digital Image: Orange You Sweet (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Sentiment Stamp: Punny Fruits & Veggies (SNSS)
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Naturals Ivory, Old Olive (Stampin’ Up)
Ink: printer ink; Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: markers (Copic); ribbon (Offray)

Hello!  Welcome to my stop on the Operation Write Home World Card Making Day Blog Hop! Today we’re celebrating the fun and joy of making cards by sharing cards made for the purpose of sending to our military members stationed overseas, so that they may write to their family and friends back at home.

Since the Christmas holiday season is quickly approaching, we’ve been asked to make cards suitable for Christmas or winter, based on any card sketch we’ve found.  I have two cards for you today so I will try not to chat too much!

First is a Christmas card.  I started out with OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch #52, but it didn’t quite end up looking like the sketch.  I originally had a different image, but when I was coloring it, my marker sprung a leak and the color bled where it wasn’t supposed to go.  I had this digital image already printed and cut, so I decided to go ahead and use it even though it wasn’t a circular shape.  Then I realized it would look better if I used the mirror image of the sketch, so it wouldn’t seem like the bear was looking off the edge of the card.  So, even though my card is a little different than the sketch, I think it turned out all right in the end:

Since the first card didn’t turn out as planned, I decided to make a second card and stick more carefully to the way the sketch was drawn.  I also wanted to make something that could be suitable for pretty much any recipient – male or female, age 1 to 101, because I feel those are most versatile for the troops to use.  This time I chose OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch #43.  I like it because it’s easy to create a little scene on the tilted panel.  The iceberg, penguin, and speech bubble were all fussy cut and then adhered to the snowflake panel.  I added some shimmery paint to the iceberg for some extra visual interest.  I spent a little time debating whether to make this a “thinking of you” card or a “love” card.  Love won out in the end:

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you’ll join me in creating cards for this wonderful cause.

Supplies for the bear card:
Digital Image: Rhubarb Trims the Tree (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Sentiment Stamp: Cozy Friends (SNSS)
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red (Stampin’ Up); Pure Luxury Ivory (Gina K. Designs); designer papers from Blitzen collection (Basic Grey)
Ink: printer ink; Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: Labels One Nestabilities die (Spellbinders); markers (Copic); mini star brad (The Paper Studio); dimensionals (SU)

Supplies for the penguin card:
Stamps: Critters in the Snow, Love ‘n Breakfast, A Birdie Told Me (Lawn Fawn)
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Basic Black (Stampin’ Up); Pure Luxury White (Gina K. Designs); designer paper from Fa La La collection petite paper pack (Lawn Fawn)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: Frost White shimmer paint (Tsukineko)

We’ve made it through another week, and now it’s Friday again, which means it’s time for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge! This week we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge for you.  Use any three challenge ideas in a row from the following tic tac toe board to come up with the elements you need to include in your creation, along with a digital image.

I decided to go straight down the middle of the board for my card.  I chose the digital image of Rhubarb the bear holding a sunflower.  The corners of the image panel were punched to give the concave rounded shape, and then highlighted with teeny brads.  I drew in the grass by hand so Rhubarb wouldn’t look like he was just floating around randomly.  Although I do have the “I {heart} you” sentiment in digital form, I decided to use the clear stamp version of it today because it was easier to get that positioned on the card where I wanted it.

I also tied in one of the Splitcoaststampers.com Hope You Can Cling To challenges with today’s card.  Victoria’s challenge is to use strips behind the focal image.  I used three different colors of ribbon for my strips.  This was the first time I tried putting ribbon through my Xyron machine and using that for my ribbon adhesive.  It worked wonderfully, except that the ends of the ribbons that I peeled off the backing first frayed.  So I put those ends on the right where the focal panel covered that up.

We’ve had some changes in the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Design Team.  We’re sad to see several people leave, but happy that Cynthia and Tricia have joined us!  Please go check out everyone’s blogs, which are all linked in the left sidebar, and give them some bloggy love.  Then go play tic tac toe and share your creation over at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge website!  You have until midnight eastern time Thursday, October 11 to link your work.  We’d love to see what you create!

Sentiment Stamp: Love From Cocoa (SNSS)
Cardstock: Kraft, Chocolate Chip (Stampin’ Up); Pure Luxury Ivory (Gina K. Designs)
Ink: printer ink; Chocolate Chip (SU)
Other: mini brads (Recollections); Apricot, Taupe and Chocolate grosgrain ribbons, ticket corner punch (SU); markers (Copic)

Hello! Happy Friday! Are you ready for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge?

This week’s challenge is Hip To Be Square! We’re asking that you create a square or cubic project using a digital image as your focal point. You don’t have to use a Sweet ‘n Sassy digital image, but we do enjoy seeing our participants use them (and you get the chance for extra perks if you do – see the Digi Challenge site for more details!). Link your card at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge site by midnight eastern time Thursday, October 4.

I’ll admit that I went pretty simple and made a square card. I used a Sweet Stop sketch from last May for my card’s layout.  The cupcake liner was paper pieced. (Paper piecing is such a good way to use up small scrap pieces of designer paper!) I thought this would make a cute, cheery card for someone.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to see what the rest of the Design Team has created and give them some comment love. Links to their blogs are in the left sidebar.

Supplies:
Digital Images: Cupcake Cocoa, Masculine Birthday Greetings (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Almost Amethyst, Tea Party designer series paper (Stampin’ Up); Solar White (Neenah)
Ink: printer ink
Other: markers (Copic); buttons (SU); embroidery thread (DMC); Labels Nine Nestabilities die (Spellbinders)

Hooray! It’s Friday! That means that the weekend is almost here, AND it’s time for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge! Today is a little different because the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge ladies are also bringing you a blog hop for our new September release – and we are all excited about that! 🙂

This week’s challenge is Scoring. Use scoring somehow and somewhere on your creation to embellish it.

Every card you enter in our challenges throughout the month of September gives you one chance to win 3 digital stamps of your choice from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps store!
  • When uploading to online galleries, please use keyword SNSDC72.

I’ve used the new Happy Flowers digital image for today’s card.  The image may look familiar to you if you enjoy using Sweet ‘n Sassy clear stamps because it’s also part of the Happy Place stamp set.  However, being a digital image allows the flexibility of resizing the image to suit any project.  You can make it small for a little area on a card, or make it really large to use as a background paper for a scrapbooking layout.  The choices are up to you!  To meet the scoring challenge, I scored and folded a strip of designer paper to make a pleated paper ribbon.  It’s not easy to see in the photo, but the card also has scored lines above and below the paper ribbon. I kept the layout clean and simple so it would showcase the image and the paper ribbon.

Here’s the list of all the blog hop participants. Be sure to leave a comment on each Design Team member’s blog post. One DT member is a mystery blogger, and she will be picking a random winner from the comments on her blog post! The winning prize is the entire September digital release! How awesome is that!?! The winner will be announced on the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge blog next Friday, September 28.

I guess I got on a creative roll Sunday and Monday and was so wrapped up in making things that I didn’t take the time to blog them.  Today I’m sharing my two favorites of the four cards I made.

Because of the seasons getting ready to change here in North America, Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps had a Fall Frenzy Virtual Stamp Day with several challenges.  It seems that one of the first things people think of when they think of fall or autumn is the changing leaves.  So I printed off some digital image leaves and watercolored them with reinkers.  Then I fussy cut them and adhered them to my cards.

First off is a card that also incorporates this week’s Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple challenge.  It’s an inspiration challenge and the photo is of a bunch of leaves with raindrops on them.  For my card, I tried to replicate the long narrow shape of the photo, so I scored lines for the decorated area of my card and scattered my watercolored leaves within that area.  I underlined the sentiment with Dew Drops to mimic the raindrops in the photo.  I took a little bit of creative license and cut the stems of the leaves much shorter than the actual image.

I used a scored border on my second card, too.  This time the border goes around the edges of the card.  The sentiment was created with alphabet stamps.

I think it’s neat to consider that these cards were made with only one and a half sheets of cardstock!  One sheet was used for the two card bases, and the half sheet was used for the leaf images.  I think they’ll be good seasonal cards to include in my early October shipment to Operation Write Home.

Supplies for today’s cards:
Leaves: Autumn Leaves digital stamp set (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Sending Love sentiment: Christmas Tags (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Falling sentiment: Jessie’s ABCs (Lawn Fawn)
Cardstock: Confetti Cream (SU); Solar White (Neenah) [for the leaves]
Ink: printer ink; Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Other: Wild Wasabi, Marigold Morning, and Riding Hood Red reinkers (Stampin’ Up); Dew Drops (Robin’s Nest)

Hello! Happy Friday! Are you ready for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge?

This week we have a technique challenge for you. We’re asking that you create a pop-up card using a digital image. There are many different pop-up card tutorials easily found online. You don’t have to use a Sweet ‘n Sassy digital image, but we do enjoy seeing our participants use them (and you get the chance for extra perks if you do – see the Digi Challenge site for more details!).

I decided to make a sliding pop-up card, using a tutorial I found at Splitcoaststampers.com.  I had never made one before and I’ll concede that it was a good learning experience.  🙂  I added a piece of designer paper in a subtle paisley print to the back piece of the card.  That really wasn’t a good idea in the end.  It made it more difficult for that back piece to bend and stand the way it’s supposed to.  It also added an extra layer of thickness to punch through when I needed to punch the thumb notch.  So if you decide to make a sliding pop-up card, I suggest that you decorate your back piece differently, either with stamping or dry embossing.  The image I chose this week goes along with the pop-up theme, which my 13-year-old will probably think is really corny if and when he sees this card and blog post.  (Ha – see what I did there?  Yeah, my son would definitely roll his eyes at that!  He doesn’t like puns.)

So my first photo shows the card standing up.  The back piece doesn’t stand up as straight as I’d like, probably because of that extra layer of designer paper.  I free-hand cut around the popcorn box image.  The sentiment was cut with a cloud die, but I trimmed some of it to make it look more like a popped kernel of corn.  I added some sponging to both the sentiment kernel and the popcorn in the image to make it look “buttered”.

The thing that I really liked about this style of pop-up card is how nicely it folds flat (or relatively flat), so that it can be mailed in a standard A2 envelope.  The part you’d write your message on (which is extending out the front on the first picture) slides back behind the part with the image.  Here’s a photo of it flattened out:

So, now it’s your turn to try a pop-up card!  Link your card at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge site by midnight eastern time Thursday, September 20.  Remember that for every card you submit throughout September, you will get one entry to be eligible for winning 3 digital images of your choice from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps store!  Be sure to play along every week, and to go visit the rest of the design teams’ blogs for more inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Digital Images: Poppin’ By (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: So Saffron, Real Red, Prints designer series paper, Delicate Dots designer series paper (Stampin’ Up); Pure Luxury White (Gina K. Designs)
Ink: printer ink; So Saffron (SU)
Other: Clouds & Raindrops die (SNSS); sponge; 1/2″ circle punch (SU)

We’ve made it through another week, and now it’s Friday again, which means it’s time for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge! This week’s theme is Take Me Away. We encourage you to make a project using a digital image that shows some means of transportation. It could be a car, a bus, a bicycle, a train, or even a hot air balloon! Share your project with us at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge site by midnight eastern time Thursday, September 13. You’re not required to use a Sweet ‘n Sassy digital image for your project, but we do love when you use those (and you get the chance for perks if you do – see the Digi Challenge site for more details).

Last week I was perusing the Sweet ‘n Sassy digital images, trying to decide which one to use for my challenge card. When I saw the Blast Off set, I knew I had the perfect designer paper to pair with it. So I’ve combined them in this week’s card. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch #51 turned sideways.  I wanted the rocket image tilted up on the die cut piece so that it would look like the rocket is blasting off up into the atmosphere.  I flipped the rocket image horizontally (like a mirror image) so it wouldn’t look like it was shooting off the edge of the card.  That’s one of the fun things about digi images – being able to manipulate them to best suit your project!  I thought about doodling a border around the edge of the die cut, but I decided against it because I didn’t want to risk messing up that piece after I’d already colored the rocket.  (OK, I’m a wimp like that.) The sentiment I used, along with a few others, are included with the rocket image. This card also meets this week’s OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge, to create a card with scallops on it that can be sent to a child.

This month, the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge team would like to welcome Cynthia O. and Sarah M. as guest designers!  They earned these positions by using Sweet ‘n Sassy digital images on the projects they made for some of our recent digi challenges.  Their blogs are linked in the left sidebar along with the rest of the design team’s blogs, so go check them out for some great inspiration!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a fabby weekend!

Supplies for today’s card:
Digital Images: Blast Off (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: Pure Luxury Ivory (Gina K. Designs); Basic Black (Stampin’ Up); Marigold and Dawson papers from Oh Baby! Boy collection (Basic Grey)
Ink: printer ink
Other: markers (Copic); scallop die and decorative plaque die (SNSS)

Here’s what I came up with for the Operation Write Home Labor Day Virtual Card Making Party second challenge.  This time we had a recipe to follow:  1 image, 2 patterned papers, and a 3-word sentiment.  I’ll concede that my red paper doesn’t have much of a pattern to it, but it’s from an old Basic Grey paper pad and it is definitely not a true solid.  The papers I chose go along with the current Dynamic Duos color challenge.  The girl’s heart and dress are both paper pieced. The sentiment was created using Microsoft Word. The layout is Freshly Made Sketch #50, but the deadline for linking it to that challenge has already passed.

Supplies:

Hello!  It’s Friday!  I am SO definitely looking forward to this weekend!  Tonight is our high school’s first home football game of the season.  Both of my sons are in the marching band this year so our whole family will be out at the stadium tonight supporting the team – and yes, I’m excited to see the band’s performance, too!  Since Monday is Labor Day, it will be nice to have a little break from the early alarm for getting the boys up and ready for school.

And another fun thing about it being Friday is that it’s time for a new Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge! This week our challenge is Something New, Old, and Blue. The idea is to create something using a digital image for the focal point, and to use one of your newest supplies, one of your older supplies, and something blue. Share your work on the SNSDC website by next Thursday, September 6. You can use a digital image from any company, but we especially love seeing what our challenge participants create with Sweet ‘n Sassy digital images. Check out the website for all the details.

This challenge did take a bit of thinking, but I got it all pulled together in a card that I think is pretty cute.  My “something new” is a digi image I just got a couple weeks ago; this is my first time using it.  This is Stanley Penguin.  Isn’t he darling?  I have several old-ish supplies on here… the snowflake print paper has been in my stash for at least 3 or 4 years, and the punches I used to create the snowflake embellishment are older than that.  My blue card base fits the last requirement, and I know I’ll need to line it with a white layer before popping the card into my stash of winter-themed cards for Operation Write Home.  (I’ll make sure the snowflake is glued down really well, too.)

I think my subconscious was channeling our high school’s colors while I was working on this card.  The “official” colors are blue and white, but the marching band and sports teams also use a lot of black on their uniforms.

The layout for this card is Freshly Made Sketch #50.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  Take some time to see what the rest of the SNSDC design team has created – links to their blogs are in my left sidebar.

Supplies:
Digital Image and Sentiment: Stanley Penguin (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: Brilliant Blue, Bordering Blue, Basic Black (Stampin’ Up); Solar White (Neenah); Winter Wonderland paper pack (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Ink: printer ink
Other: snowflake punches (EK Success); markers (Copic); snowflake embossing folder (Sizzix); half pearl (KaiserCraft)

Hello! It’s been a busy week here, with my kids going back to school and having marching band practices in the afternoons. I’m ready for the weekend and looking forward to the start of the high school marching band and football season! How about you?

Since it’s Friday, that means it’s time for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge! This week we have an Inspiration Challenge for you. Create a project using a digital image, using the inspiration photo at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge website as a starting point. Share it at the SNSDC website by next Thursday, August 30. Although you’re not required to use one of the fabulous Sweet ‘n Sassy digital images for your project, we especially enjoy seeing what our challenge participants make with them – and you have the chance for extra perks if you do. Details about all that can be found on the SNSDC site.

For my project this week, I used the Fall Arrangement digital image and a sentiment from Autumn Leaves.  The layout is based on this week’s Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge, but I turned this into a flap card rather than a standard A2 card.  The image is colored with Copic markers, and I added a little piercing in the corners.  I attached the focal panel with dimensional adhesive so the piercing wouldn’t smash flat, which unfortunately gives the illusion in the picture that it wasn’t cut straight and was attached a bit wonky.  This card will be going in a shipment to Operation Write Home early next week.  I like making flap cards for OWH because I feel like they give more writing space for our heroes to use.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team has created! Links to their blogs are in the left sidebar. Thanks for stopping by today.
