It seems like a lot of people I know are having birthdays now.  Today my friend Taylor at Musings of an Addict is celebrating her special day.  Later this week my friend Marge will officially turn a year older.  Four of the faculty and staff members at my son’s elementary school are having birthdays, too.  (On behalf of the PTA Executive Board, I make and send cards to the faculty and staff when necessary – birthdays, births, retirement, etc.)

Here is the birthday card I made for Taylor.  After I assembled it I realized it looks rather Christmas-y.  I hope she doesn’t mind!  This card uses this week’s sketch challenge at Lizzie Anne Designs and this week’s color challenge colors at Splitcoaststampers.  The flowers are all heat embossed.

Stamps: Au Naturale (Lizzie Anne Designs)
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Kraft (Stampin’ Up!)
Ink: VersaMark
Other: Clear detail embossing powder, Stampin’ Up! markers, blender pen, black grosgrain ribbon

And now, here is the card I sent to Marge.  It’s a little simpler version of the same Lizzie Anne Designs sketch.  In case the writing on the circle is hard for you to read, it says, “May your day be filled with flowers.”

  1. WOW gorgeous cards. And so perfect for each of them. The first is so striking and the second so sweet and innocent:-)

  2. Wonderful cards. They are great. I love the rounded corners on Marge’s card.

  3. She loved it!

And V, I will pretend you were not making a snide remark about the sweet and innocent card NOT being for me!
