Hello!  I took a little time off from crafting last week to visit my parents for a few days.  But now I’m back at it and ready for a new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.  Our hostess for the month of March is Jane, and she’s come up with a very nice, simple sketch for us.

The one thing Jane is being particular about regarding the sketch is that the element in the middle remains a square.  That was easy to accomplish with one of my stitched square dies.  Deciding what kind of images and card theme to use was more difficult.  Finally I decided to use a Lawn Fawn stamp set that I hadn’t really used for a while.  (I used a different sentiment from it not long ago, but I hadn’t used any of the images.)  I thought it would make a cute card suitable for Send a Smile 4 Kids.  I stamped the toaster on a scrap of brushed metallic cardstock and the toast on a scrap of white cardstock.  After coloring the toast and the lever on the toaster, I very carefully fussy cut the images, which made for some breath-holding moments while cutting around the legs and arms on the toast!  When I assembled the card, I used dimensional adhesive for the toast, so the slices of bread really are “popping up”.  I realize my toast may look pretty light to some people, but at least it’s not burnt!  🙂
