Hello there!  It’s the fourth Tuesday of the month, which means it’s sketch challenge time again at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I’m still working on a few more Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards for Send a Smile 4 Kids, so that’s how I arrived at the theme for today’s card.  I put some older designer paper to use for the background of the card.  In retrospect the pattern might be a little too busy for a clean and simple card, but I think it still works since it’s monochromatic.  After debating whether to use ivory or dark green cardstock for the main panel, I decided to go light.  I cut the circle from the panel so that the patterned paper would show through.  Then I cut the letters from both ivory and dark green cardstock, stacking them together for dimension, with the dark green on top.  Because of the way the letter “d” is shaped, the sentiment seems a little off centered on the panel, but it isn’t.
