Hello! I have some happy news today: I was recently asked to join the Design Team for the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Digi Challenge blog! I’m so looking forward to using the awesome Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps digital images and creating with this fantastic group of ladies.
This week’s SNSDC theme is to make a project depicting your favorite holiday. Christmas is the holiday I love most, and one of my favorite activities during Christmastime is decorating our Christmas tree. For me, getting the ornaments out of their storage boxes and hanging them on the tree is almost like visiting old friends. I just enjoy it so much! We still use some of the same ornaments that my husband and I bought for our first Christmas tree in 1992, and we’ve collected many more throughout our years together. We have several ornaments that originally belonged to my grandmother, so those have a lot of sentimental value to me, too.
So for my project, I made a card using the Rhubarb Trims the Tree digital image. Sweet Rhubarb the bear is hanging ornaments and a garland with a little help from his feathered friend. I had a really hard time matching my markers to the designer paper, and I can honestly say that they coordinate better in real life than what the photo shows. The layout I used for my card is this week’s Freshly Made Sketches layout. I figured this would be a good start to the Christmas cards I’ll want to make for Operation Write Home.
