I finally got my act together for this week’s Dynamic Duos challenge, combining it once again with this week’s layout from Freshly Made Sketches. I really like this week’s color combo, but I had a hard time figuring out what to do with it until I remembered I had this designer paper. So I went from there with the floral theme. The Prima flowers started out white. I saturated them in a mix of Cherry Cobbler reinker and water to dye them to the color I wanted, and let them dry thoroughly before attaching them to the card. Some of the flowers soaked a bit longer than the others, and I like the color variation that resulted. This card is going to a friend who will be celebrating her birthday very soon.
Since it’s getting to be time to make Valentines and lots of love-themed cards for Operation Write Home, I decided to make a twin card for that purpose. The seam binding is a little more ruffled on this card than the birthday card. I love the look of the ruffles, but doing that is more tedious and time-consuming than I usually like to play around with, so I don’t use this technique very often.
Thanks for stopping by today!
