I hadn’t planned to make more Christmas cards this year, but this week’s Dynamic Duos challenge led me in that direction.  I’d been wondering over the last few days what to make with gold and black.  I have some Christmas ornaments that belonged to my maternal grandmother, and as I was hanging the gold bell-shaped one on our tree, I decided I’d make a clean and simple card with gold bells.  When I was making the card, I dug out my gold embossing powder and heat embossed the stamped bells.  I think the embossing powder might be getting old – it didn’t melt as nicely and smoothly as I hoped it would.  I have had it for several years.  Oh well.  I used some black accents too.  And even though it’s a bit of a stretch, I think the bells could count as fitting in the challenge’s “dessert option” of a music theme.  Although it isn’t as obvious as having musical notes on the card, the bells theoretically could play music, yes?  😉

And on the bright side, I have one Christmas card to put away for now and send to Operation Write Home next summer!  🙂

Supplies:
Stamps: Holiday Baubles (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps)
Cardstock: Basic Black, Brushed Gold (Stampin’ Up); Pure Luxury Ivory (Gina K. Designs)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Gold (ColorBox)
Other: detail gold embossing powder (SU)
