Hello!  It’s stash challenge time again at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.  This week we’re pulling out the metallic papers and cardstocks and using them on our Christmas or winter cards.

The amount of time it took to actually make today’s card was a lot less than the time I spent pondering what to create!  Finally I settled on a very old sketch from the OWH Stars & Stamps sketch archive which fit this snowman image, and I decided to use some of the copper cardstock I’ve unintentionally been hoarding ever since Stampin’ Up discontinued it several years ago.  I heat embossed the snowman and used an embossing folder on the copper cardstock.  I added some sponging and a bit of direct-to-paper distressing to the designer paper.  The paper already had a distressed look in the bottom left corner, so I tried to match the look all the way around the panel.

And there’s one more card to add to the stockpile I’m creating to send to Operation Write Home in the fall.

What kind of metallic paper will you use for your card?  Be sure to share your work with us at the 52{C}CT site by 1:00 p.m. Eastern time Friday, February 28.  We’d love to see what you create!  Thanks for stopping by today.
