Hello, and happy Friday to you! Are you ready for another Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge?
This week’s challenge is right up my alley – use a digital image and create a Clean and Simple styled card, with no more than two layers (the card base doesn’t count as a layer). Since so many of my cards tend to be CAS anyway, the big problem for me was deciding on an image. I finally decided to use this week’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge sketch and make a Father’s Day card for my husband. The background is a watercolor wash created with several colors of reinkers. I added a bit of sponging to the die cut clouds to give them a bit of dimension. I have to admit that fussy cutting the eagle was more of a pain than I thought it would be, but I think it was worth the effort. When I was assembling the card none of the cardstock colors I was trying for the card base seemed to go right with the watercolored background. So I made the last-minute decision to add the black mat to give some visual separation and definition between the background and the base.
To play along, link your card at the Sweet ‘n Sassy Digi Challenge site. Even though you can use a digi image from any company, we especially enjoy seeing what our challenge participants create using Sweet ‘n Sassy digital images!
Have you checked out the new Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps Digi Challenge Facebook page? We will give away three digital stamps (3 winners, each gets 1 free digi of their choice) when we get to 100 LIKES! Go see what it’s all about! 🙂
