Once again, it’s sketch week at CAS Colours & Sketches!  We have a pretty interesting and versatile one for you this time.

I’ve stretched the sketch out into a rectangle since I prefer to make A2 sized cards, and I flipped it mirror image because I felt it worked better with the image of the snuggling birdies.  I also took the liberty of substituting hearts for the squares in the sketch, but it’s still easy to see that my card is modeled after the sketch.  There’s a slight woven texture to the red cardstock I used for the hearts, but it doesn’t show in the photo.  The birds are raised up from the card base with dimensional adhesive.  The largest heart (below the word “hugs”) is raised with a few scraps of cardstock as shims, so it has some dimension but not as much as the birds.

I’m also entering this card into the challenges at Addicted to CAS, where the challenge code word is “birds”, and to Addicted to Stamps and More who are having a CAS style challenge.

What will you create with this sketch?  Check out what the rest of the design team has made for further inspiration.  Share your artwork with us at the CAS – Colours and Sketches site by 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, May 20.  We’d love to have you join us!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
