June 2016 has five Thursdays, which means at CAS Colours & Sketches, it’s time for a double challenge! This week we’re asking our challenge participants to combine the given colors with the given sketch. Sounds like fun, right?
I have to admit that this card is my second attempt at the challenge. I wasn’t really pleased with the first card I came up with. I’ve always found Bermuda Bay to be a difficult color to work with, and this time around was no exception. In my first card I tried using it as little as possible, but the whole idea just came out kind of blah. So I went back to the proverbial drawing board and decided to try something even more clean and simple. Using the Bermuda Bay as the card base seemed to do the trick. That allowed me to play more with the other two colors. The flower was stamped on a piece of scrap cardstock, fussy cut, and attached to the card with dimensional adhesive. Although the two stamps I combined for the flower are from the same stamp set, this is the first time I can remember using them together in this way.
I’m going to submit my card to the “How Does Your Garden Grow?” challenge at Shopping Our Stash.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the CC&S Design Team has made. Then get your craft on and link your own card to our challenge post! You have until 7:00 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday, July 6 to share your card with us. We’d love to see what you can do with our double challenge!
