The Dynamic Duos team came up with a bright color combo for this week – Real Red and Island Indigo. It took a lot of thinking to figure out what I was going to do with these colors. I finally decided to make a clean and simple birthday card for the Operation Write Home “Duty. Honor. Cards.” card drive. Although I don’t have Island Indigo ink yet, I do have Copics that are really close to that color. So I did some subtle color gradations in the letters on the card. I stamped the party hat on a scrap piece of cardstock, colored it and cut it out, and used dimensional adhesive to keep the card from being so flat and blah. I think the corner rounder gives a bit of a fun touch too.
Supplies:
Stamps: Quinn’s ABCs, Hats Off to You (Lawn Fawn)
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Real Red (Stampin’ Up); Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: markers (Copic); corner rounder punch (EK Success)
