I recently discovered a blog called CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenges.  It’s dedicated to the Clean And Simple style of rubber stamping, and the site owner presents a new challenge every Wednesday. 

This past week was the first time I had a chance to play along.  The challenge was to use the colors blue and yellow, along with a neutral color.  I decided to pull out some of the Prima flowers I’ve had for a while.  I started looking through my pastel colors first, but then these brighter ones caught my eye and I thought I’d play with them instead.  They matched up nicely to two Stampin’ Up colors.  I added a little bit of texture with some watercolor paper I’ve had for a long time.  I punched a scalloped oval out of a scrap of cardstock and sponged ink inside of it for a reverse mask to “ground” the sentiment.  I opted to use half pearls for the flower centers rather than brads.  The layout is one I first used several years ago, but I think it works perfectly for the CAS style. 

I really enjoyed creating this card and participating in my first CAS-tastic challenge!  I’m looking forward to seeing what they offer for the coming week.
